Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! Halloween is probably my favorite holiday and I dedicate the entire month of October to fall activities and Halloween celebrations. As we draw this month to a close, here is my month in photos!

Vineyard Vines Has Arrived!

I'm happy to report that Vineyard Vines now has a Houston (well, The Woodlands) outpost! Thankfully, I was spending the weekend with my family and was already on that side of town. The store is pretty big and has a great selection, especially for men. Somehow, it took me this long to realize I can fit in the size 14 girls skirts, so I was able to snag some savings (yay!) for similar items for fall. Also, the sales people are awesome and searched the whole store for the whale shaped coozie, which I am now the proud owner of.

Since it was opening weekend, I shamelessly stalked the whale so I could get a photo:

After a successful shopping weekend, I can't wait to go back!

Hello 2013!

With the holidays and such, I've been very neglectful of my little blog lately. However, today is a new day and I look forward to chronicling my 2013 adventures. First, a brief recap of the last couple of months.

The Sur La Table in River Oaks was the only store in Texas (and the South!) to host the beloved Barefoot Contessa, Ina Garten, on her book tour for her new cookbook Foolproof. The Home You Make and I took the day off and patiently waited in line for her arrival. She was very warm and gracious in person, but unfortunately our interaction was brief.

Here's a shot of her grand arrival and a shot of our brief interlude:

The boy and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary at the end of November at the fabulous Triniti restaurant:

Then I got into the holiday spirit by visiting the Houston Zoo's inaugural holiday light display Zoo Lights. It was amazing visiting the zoo at night with such awesome displays. I definitely hope they do it again next year.

And finally, I closed out the year in these lovelies:

Happy New Year!! See you soon for more in 2013!
